06/29/2012 - Ride for Sight

Ride for Sight is the longest running motorcycle charity fundraiser in Canada; the first ride began in 1979 in Central Ontario. Each regional Ride has its own unique features. Annual Ride for Sight weekend celebration events are supported in part by generous corporate sponsorship and are organized by volunteer Ride for Sight Planning Teams. While Ride for Sight participants are primarily comprised of motorcyclists -- volunteers, fundraisers and supporters also include non-motorcyclists and families affected by retinal diseases.

Ride for Sight is the single largest private fundraising initiative for vision research in the world. To-date, Ride for Sight has raised more than $19 million in support of the Foundation Fighting Blindness, the only organization in Canada whose mandate is to fund research for blindness caused by retinal degenerations.

We are so excited to be bringing the ride to the beautiful waterfront of the Soo for the very first time! Be sure to Save the Date and check back often for updates on all of the great things that we have planned for this celebration weekend.

View Full Details, Map, Weather, Contacts and more for this Biker Event

The Lake Somerville TX Motorcycle Rally, Will be held the 25th though the 29th of April 2012. This venue was created for the thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts who attend rallies around the nation. With many years of experience both attending and producing this type of an event, we do our best to have a great motorcycle rally for all who attend.

The biker rally is held in Somerville, Texas which is in the hub of central Texas. Situated against the shoreline of Lake Somerville, a 12000 acre lake, the biker rally is enhanced by a beautiful panorama of natural beauty. The dates decided on for the rally were determined by the Texas weather cycle. Being a rain or shine event, April was our best option. Past events held at this location were attended by 3500 to 5000 guests. For one of the best experience of a lifetime come to The Lake Somerville Rally.

View Full Details, Map, Weather, Contacts and more for this Biker Event

From rather humble beginnings in 2009, the Heroes Highway Ride & Rally has grown to become Canada's largest premier Support Our Troops event.

Our organization: The Heroes Highway Ride & Rally Association is a Not for Profit Ontario Corporation (Ontario Corporation #1827867) that oversees the organizing of the event, while sharing the management of the HHR with our hosts - the membership of the Perfect Pigs Motorcycle Club. In a radical departure from the traditional pay, register and then ride formula; we introduced the relatively new concept of a FREE registration event. But raising funds was always the major consideration and to this end, the HHR has raised approximately $50,000.00 by collecting voluntary donations on behalf of our chosen charity, Wounded Warriors (Canada Revenue Agency Charity Registration # 82808-2727-RR0001) as well as various military supporting charities including the Trenton and Toronto Military Resource Centre's and the Portraits of Honour.

Transparency, the cornerstone of our philosophy, is practiced by allowing the HHR participants to witness the ceremonial transfer of 100% of the donations collected during the course of the HHR, directly to Captain Wayne Johnston, Founder of Wounded Warriors. A gesture designed to buoy morale following a recent tragic event that tarnished the outstanding history of the base.
